About

Hi there! I’m an actor based in NYC originally from the Washington, D.C. area. I’m a proud graduate of Northwestern University where I double majored in Theatre and Psychology, got a Certificate in Music Theatre, and a Module in Screen Acting (yes, I’m an overachiever).

I’m currently playing Vivian Ward in the regional premiere of Pretty Woman at the Gateway Playhouse. I also just finished performing in the first national tour of Funny Girl playing Emma and alternating as Fanny Brice!

If I’m not belting Beyoncé in the shower or baking cookie dough-infused desserts, you can find me teaching a variety of fitness classes in Equinox Fitness Clubs around Manhattan.

“Playing the romantic leads, Leah Platt as Vivian Ward and Broadway veteran Sean Seamus Thompson as Edward Lewis both delivered award-worthy performances. The intense onstage chemistry between these two superstars was one of the show's high points. Platt showcased her stellar vocals throughout the production and rocked her three solos.”

“The leads, Leah Platt as Vivian and Sean Seamus Thompson as Edward, play off their undeniable attraction perfectly. (Wow! Their singing. Where does that power come from?)”

“The opening night audience saw Leah Platt in the role — and Platt was truly a treat. Platt was delightfully comfortable onstage. She deftly navigated the book’s jokes with wit and sparkle, slipping into the shoes of Fanny Brice like they were well-worn. Platt’s got some impressive and powerful vocal prowess and pulled them off on par with the greats, but her natural poise extended to the dramatic scenes, too.”

“You tend to worry when that white paper drops out of a program and you learn the lead is absent. However, no need to fret in the case of Platt. The sound on opening night was particularly sharp, supporting the 14-piece orchestra and ultimately elevating Platt’s soaring belt.”

“Leah has a gangbuster voice fully displayed as she plows through an excellent score with music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Bob Merrill.”
— Broadway World Kansas City
“Platt is a belter and she hits some incredible high, sustained notes. Her version of “Don’t Rain On My Parade” is flawless.”
